Rental

What’s the hiring schedule?

You may hire the equipment during the opening hours of our base (Niasca and Portofino).

Equipment available for rental is:

  • single sit-on-top kayak
  • double sit-on-top kayak
  • stand up paddle boards
  • mega-sup
  • snorkeling equipment

It’s possible to book the equipment for rentals of one day or more (for hourly rentals, booking is not available).

No. Kayaks are available for hire in Portofino and Santa Margherita Ligure. We organize guided tours in Cinque Terre.

Tours

In case of bad sea-weather, what happens? And if I have already paid?

In the event that weather and sea conditions do not allow the activity to take place, we will cancel the tour ourselves by notifying you in advance. In such a case, you will be given the opportunity to move the reservation to another useful date; otherwise you will be refunded the fee already paid.

Usually we don’t take pictures during the activities. Check out the photos of our activities on our social channels – you may appear in some shots 😉

Payments & bookings

What kind of payments do you accept?

We accept payments in cash, credit card and prepaid card (both online and at our desk) and bank transfer paid in advance.

No, the payment is necessary to conclude and confirm your online booking.

Yes, data is transmitted encrypted with an SSL protocol.

In case of cancellation with less than 24 hours notice, 100% of the amount will be charged. In case of cancellation by Outdoor Portofino due to adverse weather and / or sea conditions, no withdrawal will be made.

For group activities (team buildings, schools, etc), a 30% deposit is required to confirm the activity at least three weeks in advance. The customer can cancel free of charge and without penalties up to 5 working days before the activity takes place.
If the customer cancels from 5 days up to the day of the activity, the 30% deposit will be retained. In case of cancellation by Outdoor Portofino due to adverse weather and/or sea conditions, we will try to fix a new date together with the customer or the deposit will be returned.

Can I bring the dog on the beach? Can I bring the dog on the kayak/paddle board?

The Municipality issues an annual order prohibiting access to dogs on the beach, usually from May 1st to September 30th. Basically it is not possible to bring the dogs on the kayak/paddle board – especially during the period of prohibition by order – also because of the possible damages that can be caused to sports equipment.

The Portofino area has very limited parking and parking areas, especially in the summer months. We always suggest getting there by public transportation or bicycle. Avoid the stress of traffic and parking!
Here are some ways to get to Niasca Beach:

  • Train: Santa Margherita Ligure/Portofino station can be reached from Milan (2 1/2 hours), Genoa, (45 minutes), Pisa (2 hours). You can then continue by foot, bus, boat, or cab. Find your travel solutions on Trainline.
  • Bus: With line no. 82 from S. Margherita Ligure or Rapallo station. Find out the timetables for the line.
  • On foot: From Portofino (approx. 10 min.); from Santa Margherita Ligure (approx. 30-40 min.); from Camogli, via the Portofino Park trails.
  • By boat: There are two boat lines serving the Portofino promontory. From Santa Margherita Ligure, Portofino can be reached by the Tigullio Maritime Consortium.. From Genoa, Recco or Camogli, on the other hand, the boat service Golfo Paradiso, spans the route to San Fruttuoso, from where it is then possible to take Tigullio Maritime Consortium ferries to Portofino.
  • If you just can’t help but come by car, there is an outdoor pay parking lot in Paraggi. In Portofino, you can also park your car in the paid silo.
